Help Us Lay Surena Hernandez to Rest

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Surena Hernandez, age 67, who left this world peacefully today, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family in Phoenix, Arizona.

Surena was more than just a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother — she was the heart and soul of every room she entered. A true free spirit, her laughter lit up the darkest days, and her vibrant energy made her unforgettable to all who met her. She was the life of the party, the one who turned heads and brought joy everywhere she went.

Surena bravely battled lung cancer once and came out a survivor. She lived the years that followed with grace and happiness. Sadly, the cancer returned and this time, it had spread rapidly, leaving her with few options. With courage and dignity, she faced her final days knowing her time had come.

Due to financial hardship, her family made the difficult decision to donate her body to science. However, in a heartbreaking turn, the science center was unable to accept her at the time of passing. Now, her family is left scrambling to give her the dignified farewell she deserves.

We are humbly reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers — anyone who is able to help. No amount is too small, and every donation will go directly toward funeral and burial costs to honor Surena's life and legacy.
