Hello, my name is Katie Vincent. My sisters and I have created this account because we need help with funeral and burial expenses for our mother Sheri Vincent. She unexpectedly passed away on November 9, 2024. We recently found out less than 2 months ago that she had Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). Stage 4.
The doctors believed she was young and strong enough to be able to do radiation, immunotherapy and chemotherapy. Sadly, the week before she passed away the pet scan detected 19 different areas in her body that were effected by metastases. Shortly after her last Radiation appointment she had an ischemic stroke. We rushed to the hospital only to find her body was fighting against itself. There were so many issues arrising due to the immunosuppressant meds that her body literally couldn’t produce enough blood to keep all of her organs working properly. After 2 days of a small amount of recovering she had 2 more ischemic strokes which resulted in her drastic decline. At that point she was unable to correspond unless she was in pain. Within 48 hours her body wasn’t even responding to any medications. Due to the amount of suffering and pain we could visibly see her going through we made a unanimous decision to transition her to hospice care. Mom then passed away that next morning at 4:44am. No longer in pain and able to be with the lord and all her loved ones she has so dearly missed. Our mother was the strongest woman we know. The quote she picked to help her through these trying times was “ FEAR; YOU’RE NOT WELCOME HERE!” . Not only did she face these issues head on she was hopeful that she would persevere through it all. We are so proud of her doing her very best until the end. All of our life she has shown everyone how compassionate and caring she is. She raised us three girls but also fostered over 40 children and adopted 4 more that we have all raised together. Mom has loved all of our friends along our journey of life no matter what they had gone through. Always welcomed everyone with open arms and good advice. Most importantly she had the very best friends of a lifetime. That she was so blessed to have until the very end. Thank you everyone for all your kind words and consoling comfort through these very hard times within our family. Any help would be so appreciated to be able to celebrate our mother and lay her to rest. If anyone has any questions please feel free to reach out. We love you all so much & Hope to keep you in our lives for a lifetime.
