Help Us Honor Shaylene Blouin — A Life Gone Too Soon
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
We are reaching out today on behalf of Maulene Dixon, one of our devoted caregivers at Sandra’s Home Health Care, who is experiencing an unthinkable loss.
On July 1st, 2025, Maulene’s step daughter, Shaylene Blouin, tragically passed away in a devastating highway accident just 10 kilometers outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Shaylene was only 29 years old.
Shaylene was the youngest of six children and was adopted as a newborn alongside her biological sister. She was a creative soul who loved to draw, paint, and explore the outdoors—especially the mountains. She also had a strong work ethic and found purpose in the construction industry, starting her journey building trusses in Kelowna, BC. Shaylene had a warm heart, a passion for animals, and a bright, adventurous spirit.
Her sudden and tragic passing has left her family heartbroken. Even more painfully, Shaylene is the fourth close family member to pass away in the past three years, with three relatives lost in the Caribbean and the most recent funeral held just this May 2025. The emotional and financial toll has been devastating for the family.
Now, Maulene and her loved ones are arranging a modest memorial service in Alberta later this July, followed by Shaylene’s cremation. With several family members living in Eastern Canada—including one sister in New Brunswick facing financial hardship and another in Ontario—the cost of travel, memorial expenses, and cremation has created an overwhelming financial burden.
We are humbly asking for your help to raise $3,500 CAD to support the following:
• Travel costs for three family members from Eastern Canada to attend the Alberta memorial
• Memorial arrangements to honor Shaylene’s life in a respectful, meaningful way
• Cremation and related costs
Maulene has always been a kind and dedicated caregiver to many in our community through Sandra’s Home Health Care. Now, in her time of grief, we want to stand by her the way she has stood by so many others.
Any contribution—no matter how small—will make a meaningful difference during this painful time. And if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who might be able to help.
With heartfelt thanks,
Sandra’s Home Health Care Family
