Help Us Honor Ricky Carrera's Memory

It is with heavy hearts that the Carrera family announces the unexpected passing of Ricky Carrera. Our loving family member passed away on August 9, 2024 in Chicago, surrounded by his loved ones. Ricky was a loving and kind soul who always made us laugh. He loved sports and was the biggest Duke and Titans fan. He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for the kind, loving man that he was.

About 15 years ago, our family started the search to find Ricky. When he was younger, his grandfather and mother had exchanges through letters with the goal of setting up a future date for Ricky to visit them in Mexico. Both his grandfather and grandmother were hoping to meet their grandson before they passed, but it didn’t happen. Ricky’s father and grandparents expressed their wishes to loved ones that the Carrera Family continue the search to find him. On February 6, 2022 our family finally fulfilled that wish. We spent the better part of the next two years getting to know him, and what a blessing it was. Ricky will forever live on in our hearts.

We are all devastated by Ricky’s passing and were not prepared for the cost of a funeral service. We want to give him the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Ricky’s funeral expenses and will be donating any extra funds to a charity near and dear to our hearts. Con gran pesar, la familia Carrera anuncia el inesperado fallecimiento de Ricky Carrera. Nuestro querido familiar falleció el 9 de agosto de 2024 en Chicago, rodeado de sus seres queridos. Ricky era un alma cariñosa y amable que siempre nos hacía reír. Le encantaban los deportes y era el mayor fanático de Duke and Titans. Lo extrañaremos mucho y siempre lo recordaremos por el hombre amable y cariñoso que era.

Hace unos 15 años, nuestra familia inició la búsqueda para encontrar a Ricky. Cuando era más joven, su abuelo y su madre mantuvieron intercambios a través de cartas con el objetivo de fijar una fecha futura para que Ricky los visitara en México. Tanto su abuelo como su abuela esperaban conocer a su nieto antes de que falleciera, pero no sucedió. El padre y los abuelos de Ricky expresaron a sus seres queridos sus deseos de que la Familia Carrera continúe la búsqueda para encontrarlo. El 6 de febrero de 2022 nuestra familia finalmente cumplió ese deseo. Pasamos la mayor parte de los siguientes dos años conociéndolo y fue una bendición. Ricky vivirá por siempre en nuestros corazones.

Todos estamos devastados por el fallecimiento de Ricky y no estábamos preparados para el costo de un funeral. Queremos darle el homenaje que se merece, honrar su memoria y despedirnos por última vez. Actualmente estamos solicitando donaciones para ayudar a cubrir el costo de los gastos del funeral de Ricky y donaremos los fondos adicionales a una organización benéfica.
