This is one of the most painful things I’ve ever had to type. Early Sunday morning I had woke up to find my papa unresponsive and had began starting CPR and did everything the 911 operator told me too, by the time the ambulance arrived and performed CPR (9x) my grandpa was unresponsive without a pulse for 27 minutes, after going to the hospital and doing further CT scans, his brain was already swollen and the odds of my Papa being himself and having a regular life again was very small to no chance.
His family gathered around him and held his hand, prayed and we let him know it was okay to go. He was taken off life support and was able to go peacefully. I know he’s now with my mom, who he missed so much.
My papa was one of the best human beings I’ve ever been around. His smile + bright blue eyes, contagious loud laugh and whitey humor.
He had a way of making everyone who met him fall in love with him.
As we begin to grieve and mourn his loss, we need to be able to have him cremated (his wishes) and set up a celebration of life.
Anything helps and every prayer + message means everything. We are doing our best to continue forward as my papa would want us too.
