Edith was more than just a nurse practitioner, a daughter, a sister, a friend, an aunt and a mother. She gracefully lived and honored each role in her life yet she knew she was not those roles.
From early on she knew she was a complete being and no title or material possession could add or take from who she was. She was on this earth to live and honor her own path in life and she did just that.
My sister was the personification of love and this love was transmitted into everything she did in life.
She died on August 12, of natural causes, coronary artery osteoporosis, a heart attack we were told. She had no previous health problems nor any underlying heart issues, in fact she often went to the gym and did lab work due to the nature of her job and she always had a clean bill of health.
My beautiful Mia was the one to find her mom unresponsive, she instantly woke up to her mother's terrifying scream before collapsing. This brave 12 year old, did everything she could, she called 911, she tried to move her mother to perform CPR, she called her aunts and uncles, she did everything to bring her mother back. Sadly she was also there to watch her mother take her last breath. She heard the flatline and she knew what it meant.
My sisters greatest love after her family was coffee and the ocean. She often joked that when it came for her time to go she wouldn't come back to scare us, she would only come to drink our coffee.
She was not afraid of death in fact she knew death was a part of the circle of life and she understood that what dies is not the soul but only the body.
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we come to you guys asking for donations for our beautiful sisters funeral. Her death was unexpected , never in a million years did we think we would receive a phone call like this. Our worlds are shattered but we have to stay strong.
My sister left behind a beautiful 12 year old daughter.
"Cry not for the soul, but for the memories, the memories that I attached to that beautiful body she left behind"
Life, life never dies, the soul lives on ❤️
PS; we do not have funeral dates yet, but as soon as we do, we'll inform everyone.
