Melinda Wong Romano passed away in her daughter's arms on 01/02/2025.

She had just celebrated her birthday on the 25th of December when, on December 28th, she was rushed to Valley Medical Hospital where they treated her for a hemorrhage exacerbated by a medication she was prescribed. She was a kind and selfless soul who brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. Melinda was the heart of her family, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and thoughtfulness will be deeply missed.

Our family has been devastated by her loss, and the money donated will help us with her final expenses as the cost has overwhelmed us due to the sudden circumstances. Any funds exceeding our goal will be put towards retaining legal representation in seeking justice for what happened to our beloved Melinda. We don't want the same thing happening to another family; we must make a legal stance on making sure more stringent processes are in place so that families will never have to go through the agony of what we are going through… the realization that this could all have been avoided had the system not failed Melinda. May it be the drug company, the hospital, and its staff, the bottom line is if they had taken the time to educate people on the potential risks of the medication, perhaps an alternative could’ve been prescribed or Melinda could have made a sound decision whether or not she wanted to take it despite the risks. It’s too late for Melinda, but there are others like her who could possibly die from the same situation unless we do something to prevent it.
