My grandma was an amazing, strong woman who faced so many challenges with courage and grace. She struggled with vascular disease, vascular dementia, diabetes, glaucoma, and several other illnesses, but she never let them define her spirit. Last week, she went in for surgery, and we all hoped it would help her heal and feel better. Unfortunately, due to her vascular disease, the surgery couldn’t fully help, and her condition quickly worsened. Her small intestines died, and this weekend she was transferred to hospice care to make her comfortable. She passed away today at 11:30 am, surrounded by love.
Our grandma leaves behind a large family—many children and grandchildren who adored her. Some of us weren’t able to travel to see her in her final moments because everything happened so suddenly. Now, we want to honor her wishes by having her buried in California, next to our grandpa and her late son. This means we need to fly her casket there and help our family travel from Utah to California so we can all be together to celebrate her life and say goodbye.
We are a big family, and these unexpected circumstances have left us worried about how we’ll cover the travel, funeral, and ceremony expenses. We want to give our grandma the farewell she deserves, surrounded by all her loved ones. Any support you can offer will help us reunite and honor her memory. Thank you for helping us come together during this difficult time.
