My family recently lost our beloved father, Vincent Unto, who passed away in California. As his primary contact, I need to travel from North Carolina to California as soon as possible to handle his final arrangements and cremation. My sister, Monique, lives in California but is about two hours away from where our father passed and currently does not have transportation or the financial means to handle everything on her own. I need to get there so we can take care of these arrangements together and give our daddy the respectful send-off he deserves.
Anyone who knew our father knew how much music meant to him. Vincent was an incredibly gifted singer with a beautiful, powerful voice and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of making people feel like family and brought joy and positive energy wherever he went. Despite his talent and connections through music, our father lived a simple and humble life. He worked hard, always kept a regular job, and as far as we have been able to determine, did not have life insurance to cover his final expenses.
I work as a private duty and field nurse and unfortunately do not receive paid bereavement leave. Traveling on such short notice means covering airfare, transportation, lodging, and other urgent expenses while also losing my regular income during the time I am away. We are asking for help with our father’s cremation and final arrangements, emergency travel expenses, and some of the wages I will lose while away from work. No amount is too small, and if you are not able to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean so much to our family. We just want the opportunity to say goodbye to our daddy properly and honor the man who gave so much of himself through his music, his laughter, and his love for others. Thank you for your prayers, love, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
