Losing our dad has been one of the hardest things we’ve ever faced. As his children, we want nothing more than to be together to honor him and say our goodbyes, but the unexpected costs have made this time even more challenging. My brother and I both live far from home, and traveling back means paying for flights, hotels, and car rentals, all while missing work. On top of that, there are funeral expenses and other costs that we simply weren’t prepared for, especially since our dad did not have a policy in place for us kids to have to help with these needs.

We are new to this and never imagined we’d be in a position to ask for help, but we want to make sure we can be there for our dad and each other without the added stress of financial worries.
