Help Us Honor My Step Dad’s Memory

My stepdad’s journey over the past year has been incredibly difficult. After undergoing bypass surgery last year (2025), he faced a series of serious complications. Paul Childs developed gangrene, which led to the amputation of several toes, and later, both of his feet. Throughout this time, he endured multiple surgeries, including procedures to open his arteries and drain fluid that built up in his lungs. Despite his strength and determination, he experienced a stroke and three cardiac arrests, with the last one resulting in him being placed on life support.

This past Saturday (4/4/2026), my stepdad passed away after a long and painful battle. Before he passed, he expressed how he saw himself preaching, walking and going camping again.
He protected and loved my mom the best way he could. I'm so proud that he gave himself to Christ last year as he since developed an intimate relationship that supported him through his suffering. Our family is heartbroken by his loss.
We are now facing the challenge of arranging his funeral and covering the related expenses. The financial burden is overwhelming, and we want to honor his memory with a proper farewell.

We are reaching out to our community for help during this incredibly hard time. Any support you can offer will go directly toward his funeral costs and help our family as we grieve and remember him. Your kindness and generosity mean more to us than words can express. Thank you for considering helping us give him the goodbye he deserves.
You are missed so much and have forever left an imprint in our lives, that has only made our family closer. Thank you for everything you have done, for all the times you went out of your way when no one else would. I have no words for this deep sorrow in my heart knowing you are no longer with us. In John 11:25 states "Jesus is resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."
You called out to God many times and believed in the Lord with all your heart. In Revelation 21:4 states how "Jesus will wipe every tear from our eyes, there will be no more death, mourning, crying or pain, for the old order of things will pass away."
All suffering will be removed and eternal peace and healing will consume us. We will meet again in the place God promise us dad.
