Hi, my name is Olivia Harley, and I’m trying to raise money to help get a headstone for my grandma, “Gigi Pat.” She passed away this past December, and while our family has wanted to give her the memorial she deserves, the price of headstones these days has made it impossible for us to afford. It’s been heartbreaking, especially for my mom.
My grandma lived with us for almost 13 years. Back in 2011, she suffered a stroke that left half of her body paralyzed. The doctors said she would never walk or talk again — but my mom refused to give up on her. Through endless care, encouragement, and love, my mom helped her regain her strength and spirit, and my grandma went on to live a beautiful life until the age of 81.
I truly believe she lived so long because of my mom’s determination and the love that surrounded her in our home. My grandma was the sweetest woman — she loved everyone she met, always wanted to chat, and never turned down a game of cards. The house feels quiet without her laughter now.
I want to do something special to honor her and to bring peace to my mom by finally giving Grandma Pat the headstone she deserves. It would mean the world to us to see her memory honored properly.
If you’re able to help, even just a little, it would go such a long way.
And if your grandparents are still around, call them, hug them, and cherish every moment — because one day, they won’t be there, and those memories will mean everything.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and for caring.
