Anyone who knew or met my mama knows that she sacrificed so much for everyone. She ensured that her family was always taken care of and was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed a babysitter, needed a ride, needed an ear to hear your problems... She was always there.
She was a faithful and loyal wife to her husband, Scott, for 50 years and a devoted mother to her daughter, Jessie, for 46 years. She was absolutely enthralled and overcome with love and joy when she found out she was going to be a grandma to her grandson, Aidan, now 23 years old and her granddaughter, Camryn, now 21 years old. Her love for them was always unconditional, especially when she became a great grandmother to her now 7-month-old great granddaughter, Charlotte Louise Jackson, daughter of Aidan and his partner, Maddy. Her happiness every day came from ensuring the happiness and security of her family. She was without a doubt, the matriarch and 'hub' of our family.
Unfortunately, on December 11, 2025, she succumbed to an infection that wreaked havoc on her body, sending her into complete kidney failure and ultimately leading to septic shock. She was completely surrounded by her closest family as she took her last and final breath. She was my best friend and my dad's life partner and soul mate.
Sadly, mom's untimely passing presents us with a plethora of complications and difficulties. She did not have life insurance at the time, and we are in the process of contacting the City of Virginia Beach where she was last employed to possibly receive her benefits, but as I mentioned, it's a process. Her final expenses have proved to be a bit excessive and overwhelming for both dad and me.
We are kindly asking for any help and using this platform to do so that our request can be widely received. Words alone simply cannot, nor will they ever be able to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for any monetary donations contributed.
Thank you again for everyone's support, thoughts and prayers over the past several weeks and we hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
