Hi, my name is Randy Helsel. I created this fundraiser to help my wife Hunter who is now facing the most difficult decision of her life. January 16th we got a call that my mother in law Michelle was in the ICU and was intubated after having emergency spinal surgery. 1/17 we found out the she is paralyzed from the neck down and suffering from a severe blood infection in her lungs and spinal cord. This past week my wife had the impossible decision to make to remove her mother from life support and start end of life care to honor her wishes. She passed away peacefully in the afternoon on Friday 1/21 with her daughter by her side. We were completely unprepared to handle this situation and what comes after, having just moved into an apartment and raising a 7 month old baby. One of her mom’s requests was to be cremated. I’m trying to raise money to cover the cremation costs as well as any medical bills there may be. We also are going to have to fly out back East to have a memorial with Michelle’s family and spread some of her ashes with her own mother’s.
