We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our mother, Marie Johnston. Marie was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and a beloved friend to many around the world. She was known for her many Spiritual Gifts and helped others thru guidance from the spirit world.

In this time of profound grief, we are asking for support to help funeral costs and other needs for the family. Any contribution, no matter the size, will alleviate this financial burden and allow us to focus on healing and honoring the memory of our mother. In addition to funeral costs, we are asking for help to get Laura home to Wisconsin so she can be with her family during this difficult time. As well as fulfill one of Marie’s last wishes of being buried in her urn close to her mom.

Here is more of my personal story:

This has been very hard for me to share even with close friends and family and so I had chosen to not share it in the original story. Yet it has come to my attention that I should be completely forthcoming with the information. I have been a solo mom for many years and have always made life work for us. This past year has been extremely difficult for me as I’m recovering from substance issues and mental health issues. I now have over one year off of alcohol and all hard drugs and I thank my mom for this as she is the one who showed me the way to a solid recovery program.  Also during this past year my family ended up homeless  in July. We are still by the grace of God and state funding being provided a motel room for a safe place to sleep and eat. During this period of homelessness I’ve maintained my recovery by going to lots of meetings, prayer, and reaching out to the people God has sent to me.

With this all being said, I am praying and hoping this GoFundMe gets shared to the right people to be able to help us.

I do recognize that I have an income and that is what pays for most things like my phone, vehicle and its insurance. It also pays back the loan apps, I’ve been working to stop using, yet the need is there and it’s available for me. Donations to my family would help me to get away from these loan apps and also help me to save funds to get us home to Wisconsin by spring when roads will be better for a small family to travel on.
