Help us Honor Maria aka Teacher Lola

Dear friends, family, and the Ramona community,

It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Maria, known to many as “Teacher Lola.” She was not only the heart of our family but also a pillar of the Ramona community. As a dedicated Head Start preschool teacher, my mom spent years nurturing and educating countless children, helping to shape the next generation with love, care, and patience.

Wherever we went in Ramona, my mother was recognized and loved. It was impossible to shop or walk through town without someone stopping us to ask, “Are you Teacher Lola’s son?” Her impact on this community was undeniable, and her kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.

Now, as we mourn her loss, we are reaching out to our friends, family, and the community she cared so deeply for, to help us give her the dignified farewell she truly deserves.
