Honoring the Life of Moonyean " Mama " Olano

July 30, 1933 - June 5, 2025

With deep sadness and immense love, we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Mama Moon. She was first diagnosed with Dementia in late 2023, which had progressed since then. In her final days, she became sick with severe Pneumonia. She left this world peacefully in her home, just as she would have wanted — surrounded by her family.

Mama was the 15th child in a remarkable family of 16 siblings. Born into a large, vibrant household, she carried that spirit of unity and care into her own family. She was the very definition of a homemaker — not just in the traditional sense, but in how she built a home full of warmth, patience, fun, laughter, and unconditional love. She was the benchmark of what it means to be a grandmother: wise, nurturing, and endlessly devoted.

To know her was to feel welcomed, accepted, and deeply cared for- she was like a second grandmother to everyone she met. She spent her life putting others first, and now, we want to honor her the way she deserves.
