It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write today, on behalf of my entire family, asking for help in covering funeral expenses for my brother Luke who left us way too early and unexpectedly.
Luke was larger than life. His heart was huge, open to and ready, and willing to give love to all who crossed his path. He was always prepared to find the best part of you and deliver it in a rhyme, bringing smiles and wiping tears. Luke excelled at bringing hope and giving everyone around him a reason to live. He believed in and wanted so much.
Luke had a way of connecting with people, a fearless, fierce intensity that could sweep you off your feet, intoxicating the sober with his abundance and leaving you wanting more. He was the gold at the end of the rainbow.
In the early hours of Monday morning, Luke's life came to a startling halt. It wasn't time for him to go; there was so much he was ready to do. This was not supposed to be the end of his story, and I know it's not. There is so much more to write, and his love will carry on.
He would hate me for this ask. But planning for death was not one of his many gifts, and so I am asking for help to cover the costs of giving him this earthly send-off with the proper love and respect he deserves. Even the smallest donation is greatly appreciated.
For those of you who would like to be part of the beginning of his next great adventure, the services will be held this Thursday, October 3, at St. Lawrence Orthodox Church in Felton at 10am. The burial will follow at Felton Cemetery, and a reception will be held in the church courtyard. It will be great to share the best memories of Luke, through stories, laughter, and tears.
In gratitude,
Alicia, Aaron, Lanette, Angie, Anna, and Michael
