Hi we are the parent of Lucas Torres aka our cucho. Last week we took our 4 year old to the er thinking we would leave soon because he had a fever, within 2 hours our worlds would change forever, the doctors came back with news no parent wants to hear, “we found traces of leukemia in your sons blood”. Within 24 hours of the news, Lucas was experiencing liver failure so the hospital needed to transfer him to ucla because that’s their specialty. He arrived in unstable conditions and fought through it , for 4 hours we waited nervously to see him. UCLA did a great job and gave us more time with our precious baby. Lucas tried his hardest but the leukemia was attacking different organs, they discovered what they thought was a blood clot in one of his airways but it turned out to be a tumor. We tragically lost our baby a week after finding out he even had cancer, he has regularly check ups and recent blood work done and it never showed we have never been the type to ask for handouts or anything like that so this is really hard for us but at a time like this we want to call upon the community for help. Please any donation is appreciated, nothing to big or small, we want to give our baby boy a proper memorial.
