Help Us Honor Linda Tomas-McIntire's Memory
Donation protected
On October 11th, Marc and I received the call that his mom and my surrogate mom had coded. We rushed to the hospital, beating the ambulance, and while our hearts and souls begged for better news, we knew deep down that our worlds were about to be forever changed when we were led to a private waiting room. After an hour of CPR, and as we bore witness, Linda Tomas-McIntire was pronounced dead. While dementia had taken root, this was entirely unexpected. She was doing so well in the weeks leading up to this horrible event. We received no phone call that things had taken a turn for the worst. However, when the charge nurse called to ask us what we wanted to do, she said Linda was expected to not make it through the night, as she had been doing poorly for several days. They also had documents outlining her desire to be fully resuscitated. They won’t even return our phone calls to arrange her belongings for pickup. We were robbed. SHE was robbed. Not of finances, but time. Time to love. Time to say goodbye.
As we are acclimating to this new normal and processing everything that has transpired, we are trying to find the funds to afford a grave marker and a lawyer. We ask that if anyone is willing, to please donate even $1 towards these immediate needs.
I will update as we are able.
