About Our Mom

Our beloved mother, Lawana Pacheco, has always been the heart and soul of our family. A devoted wife to Joe for 41 years, a loving mother to Antonio, Joey, Arthur, Victoria, and Bette, and a proud grandmother to Micha and Kellie, she lived her life full of love, kindness, and strength.

She was the type of woman who made everyone feel cared for — always putting her family first, always giving, always strong. Her laughter filled our homes, and her love held our family together through every season of life.

Her Battle with Cancer

On July 4th, a day that should have been filled with celebration for Joey’s birthday (and just one day before Bette’s), our mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She began treatment immediately with radiation and chemotherapy, but it was a rare and aggressive form of cancer that spread too quickly.

She has been in the hospital since October 5th, surrounded by her family — we have not left her side. Though she no longer opens her eyes or speaks, we know she hears us and feels our love. We play her favorite game, Cribbage, listen to her favorite songs, and fill her room with memories and laughter through our tears.

Why We’re Asking for Help

As her illness progressed, our family has done everything we can to be by her side and make her comfortable. Sadly, the time has come for us to prepare for her passing and to give her the peaceful, dignified farewell she deserves.

We are raising funds to help cover the funeral and cremation expenses. Anything you can contribute — whether large or small — will go directly toward giving our mom the loving goodbye she’s earned after a lifetime of giving so much to others.
