Koop was more than just our family dog—he was a true friend and protector. I rescued him from an abusive situation when he was just six months old, and from the moment he came home, he fit right in with our family. Koop was gentle and loving with my children, always patient and playful. He loved car rides, especially trips to the local Dairy Queen, and he quickly became a familiar face around our neighborhood. Everyone at the gas stations, parks, and even my kids’ school knew and loved Koop, despite him being a pitbull. He had a special way of making everyone feel safe and welcome.

When my granddaughters were born, Koop was amazing with them. He let them tug on him, ride him, and lay on him, always standing guard and watching over us. His loyalty and love were unmatched. Tragically, we lost Koop in an electrical fire that destroyed our home. He was found in a bedroom, staying close to our cat who had just given birth to kittens that day. Even in his final moments, Koop was protecting those he loved most.

We want to give Koop the proper farewell he deserves, but the cost of cremation and burial is more than we can manage right now. Any support to help us honor Koop’s memory and lay him to rest would mean the world to our family. Thank you for caring about his story and for helping us through this difficult time. The rest of the donations will be used to also take care of the surviving cats that we were able to find. They do need to see a veterinarian as well as food and litter care to be provided for them as well.
