❤️ Help Us Lay Our Mother to Rest ❤️

We are heartbroken to share that our Mother, Kisha Gaither, was taken from us in a violent and senseless act. She departed this life unexpected, and our lives changed forever in an instant. We are her children — Malik and Rosalynda Gates — and we are now facing something no child should ever have to carry. We want to ensure that we give our mother a proper homegoing. Our mother was our world. She was loving, stubborn in the best way, protective, funny without even trying, and she showed up for everybody. She fed people, took people in, prayed for people, and tried to keep peace even when her own life was heavy. She deserved safety. She deserved time. She deserved to grow old. Instead, we are planning her funeral. We are asking for help because we simply cannot do this alone.

WHAT WE’RE RAISING FUNDS FOR

• Funeral service and viewing

• Burial/plot costs

• Casket and memorial program

• Flowers and basic arrangements

• Transportation and fees required by the funeral home

Everything adds up very fast, and funeral homes require payment upfront.

We’re doing the best we can, but as two young adults, this is more than we can afford. We were not prepared — emotionally or financially — to bury our mother this soon.

Every dollar will go directly toward her funeral and

burial so that we can lay her to rest with dignity and love.

ABOUT OUR MOM

Our mom was more than what happened to her. She was a mother, a friend, a sister, and a constant source of comfort. She was the person who answered the phone at 2 AM. She was the person who gave her last and never told anyone.

She was the person who made sure birthdays were special even when there wasn’t money for extras. We want her remembered for the love she gave, not just the way she was taken.

FROM US

Losing her like this was sudden and traumatic. We are grieving while also

having to make calls, sign papers, and make decisions we never thought we would be making right now. It feels unfair to have to ask for help, but we know our mother was loved by so many people, and we believe in community.

If you knew her, you know she would do this for someone else's family in a heartbeat.
