Help Us Honor Kevin Fields with the Goodbye He Deserves
Donation protected
My name is Kriss Judd. Kevin Fields has been a friend since college days, half a lifetime ago. When I was about to be homeless in Washington, D.C., he and his wife, Mary Prater Fields, offered me a couch with a roof. That's who Kevin was. He'd give you the shirt off his back, plus the rest of what he was wearing to boot.
Kevin passed away suddenly tonight, 6/22/2025. He was in and out of consciousness for some time, then coded in the ambulance just as they were pulling up to the hospital. Despite the doctors' best efforts, they were unable to revive him.
In addition to his wife of 29 years, Kevin leaves behind his biological father, Michael Hurm, several brothers, daughter Sarah Fields Henson, wife of John Henson, son Robert and his wife, Shyanna Ritchie Fields, and son Andrew Fields.
Life's been rough on Kevin and Mary for several years. Kevin didn't have any kind of life insurance, savings, nothing. His family would like to honor his wishes of being cremated — he always joked about putting his ashes in a bottle of Ale-8 and burying him in the back yard. (For the non-Kentuckians here, it's a local brand of ginger ale that Kevin loved.)
In addition to the six-pack of Ale-8, the family will plan a memorial service as soon as some of the shock wears off. They also need some support with household expenses.
Anything you can contribute is welcome, even if it's just a dollar or two. The family is tremendously grateful for any support you can provide.
Thank you.
