Help us cover Josh Horsley's funeral costs

If you’re reading this, there’s a solid chance that you’re familiar with the name of Josh(ua) Horsley, a man loved so much who was lost too soon. You’re aware of the loss of a good friend, brother, son, husband to be, and now – father to be. A human soul who was known and loved dearly. The reality? Josh was the best. And his unborn son will never experience the amazing human he was.

He brought out the best in everyone that had the great fortune to cross paths with him. He was the glue that held the best – and the worst – of us all together. If you knew Josh, you knew him intimately – a brother, a friend, a confidant, a ride or die (if only for shits and giggles... and an “if we die, we die”) kind of buddy that was always down for any and every adventure. He had a great impact – oftentimes unspoken or unacknowledged – on everyone’s life.

Josh had an alluring magnetism about him that drew people together and drew out the best in others. He never wanted anything from anyone, he only wanted something for them. He was the best of friends and the best brother. A few of us were lucky and had the opportunity to experience him as both. We remain forever impacted by who he was.

Unexpectedly, due to a tragic car accident, we laid our brother and friend to rest almost a month ago. Financial difficulty has caught all of us off-guard in this tumultuous time and we have been trying to just keep our heads above water. We are so grateful for the amazing turnout from everyone that came to honor Josh and pay their respects at his celebration of life. But many do not know that, despite exhausting all our resources, we have been unable to pay for the funeral in full.

Until that bill is paid, we are unable to carry the remains of Josh home and properly give him rest. Although it is immensely difficult to admit defeat and do so, we humbly ask your help to pay for these expenses. All that we have left of him is his remains. More importantly, all that his unborn son will have of his father, is those remains.

This GoFundMe campaign is so that we might pay for Josh’s funeral bills, cremation, and the services that were attended in his memory and name. Our family is deeply struggling emotionally with his loss, but also with the inability to monetarily pay for his passing.

Any amount exceeding the funeral cost will go towards a trust fund to help Josh’s unborn son, Lealand, as he is born into this world without a father to support and guide him in life. It will hopefully allow him to gain a foothold in this life and know that his father’s love still carries him in memory.

Please help us honor and pay homage to Josh, an incredible human who had such an everlasting and impactful influence on everyone’s lives that he touched. More than anything, Josh’s family was his whole world. Knowing that they were taken care of would honor the legacy he would have wanted to leave behind.
