Honoring the Life and Legacy of Our Beloved Father
With heavy hearts but deep gratitude, we share the passing of our father, John E. Kerr — a great man whose love, warmth, and generosity touched countless lives.
Our dad was more than a father to his three children, Kelli, Narda, and John Jr., he was everyone’s favorite uncle, the friend you could call on, and the selfless hero who gave without ever asking for anything in return.
Whether you knew him as the man who taught you how to fish on summer mornings, the man who filled the house with the smell of his famous Jamaican soup, or the smiling face behind the wheel of his truck after a long day’s work...you knew you were loved.
He served proudly in the Jamaican army and built a life of hard work and humility, always putting family first. His joy came not from riches or recognition, but from seeing those around him happy and cared for. His heart and home were always open.
Now, as we prepare to lay him to rest, we want to honor him with the celebration he truly deserves one full of love, laughter, memories, and life. This is not a time of mourning, but of joyful remembrance of the legacy he leaves behind.
We are asking for your support to help cover the costs of his funeral, burial, repast, and other expenses needed to make this celebration of life as beautiful and meaningful as the man himself.
Memorial service details to come.
If John ever touched your life with a meal, a kind word, a helping hand, or a lesson by the water’s edge, we invite you to give whatever you can. No amount is too small, and every gift helps us honor him in the way he lived: surrounded by love and community.
Thank you for standing with our family during this time. Your prayers, support, and generosity mean the world to us.
With love and gratitude,
The Kerr Family
