My mother "Jenean Herring" has been battling many illnesses and have had to undergo some major surgeries for the past 4 years or so. Some of the things she's had to battle with/withstand are strokes, brain surgeries, the loss of the use of her legs, various infections in the blood stream, a tracheostomy because she isn't able to breathe on her own, developing open wounds/bed sores, and she has been on a feeding tube for the past 3/4 years. That isn't even the full list of things but she has been a true warrior through it all! Her doctors are now saying there is no chance for her to improve and my siblings and I had to make the tough decision to put her on hospice care, and make her comfortable instead of continuing to prolong her suffering. She has been on hospice care for about 3 weeks now and the doctors have no clue when God may choose to call her home, but they believe it can be any day as she has been actively declining for some time now. My mother has struggled with drug abuse all of her life and rashly decided to cash out her life insurance policy without telling anyone. This leaves my siblings and I with the responsibility to make sure that when the time comes we are able to send her home properly. The nursing home has told us that we would only have up to 4 hours to make arrangements for her when the time does come. Proactively, my sister and I sat down with some funeral homes to discuss and price everything since we will be paying out of pocket. We are asking for any kind of assistance to help us raise a total of $3,000 as soon as possible since we do not know when she may pass. Anything will be appreciated even if its just a prayers for my family and I.
