Help Us Honor Jay Munroe
Donation protected
Jay Munroe, born and raised in the heart of Boston, was more than just a man - Known to many as the “Grill Master,” he spent countless summers at Washington Park with a spatula in hand, laughter in the air, and the smell of barbecue that brought everyone together.
But if you didn’t catch him at the grill, you probably saw him at Tournaments and Carnival — selling slush with a smile that could brighten any street corner. Jay was a true people person, someone whose presence was felt and whose absence is deeply missed.
He was a proud Celtics fan through and through, and for reasons only he could explain, a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers supporter. That was just Jay — full of personality, humor, and heart.
Jay recently passed, and while he did have life insurance, we learned that because his policy was under two years old, it does not pay out the full benefit. This unexpected financial gap has left our family in need of support as we prepare to lay him to rest with the dignity and love he deserves.
We’re asking for your help — whether it’s through donations, prayers, or simply sharing this page — to help us give Jay a proper homegoing service.
We thank you in advance for your kindness and support during this time. Every contribution brings us one step closer to honoring Jay in the way he lived — surrounded by love, community, and respect.
With love and gratitude
