Help Us Honor Henry Chavez and Seek Justice
Donation protected
My name is Amy, the sister of Henry Chavez. Henry grew up in Utah and in Pasadena, CA. He was a funny and sweet person who was always trying to help his family out. He loved to fix cars and had a dream of having his own business as a mechanic.
Unfortunately, Henry was murdered by a Taylorsville, Utah police officer on October 9th, 2024, around 10 pm. Police were following my brother from a distance and identified him at a traffic stop. After that stop, shots were fired, and Henry died there due to the gunshot wounds. It is not clear why the cop shot my brother, but it is under investigation. I am raising funds to support my brother's funeral costs and seek help from a lawyer; we want to fight this and get the justice my brother deserves. One too many times has this happened to the men in our community, and police need to be held accountable for these atrocious actions. This incident was unexpected and my brother’s life was cut short at 28 years old. Any donation/ advice is appreciated. May Henry always be remembered for the sweet and funny person he was.
Update:
We raised enough funds to transport my brother to California. Now we are just looking to cover costs for the funeral services. Thank you all for the donations.
