We are raising funds to help cover the costs of our grandmother Rhonda’s cremation and memorial. She passed away on June 21st after a long and difficult battle with MS and other health complications.

At this time, there has been no confirmation of any life insurance policy or financial support to assist with these expenses. We had also hoped for assistance through the Cherokee Nation, as she was a registered citizen, but because she did not reside within one of their Oklahoma districts, that support is not available. This has left more of the financial burden than expected.

Two of her grandchildren have stepped in to take on the immediate costs in order to move forward with her arrangements and honor her the way she deserves. We’ve been grateful to receive help from a few family members, and their support means so much—but we still need additional help to ease the weight of these expenses.

Any contribution, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated. If we are fortunate enough to meet or exceed our goal, any remaining funds will go toward a shared headstone for both our Grandma Rhonda and our great-grandmother Margaret—a lasting tribute to two women who meant the world to us.

Although the GoFundMe page asks for a service date, we want to be transparent and let everyone know that the Celebration of Life is still being planned. This is the first time we’ve gone through something like this, and we’re doing our best to make sure everything is handled with care and respect. We are currently working with the church to find a date that doesn’t conflict with other events, and once that is confirmed, we will share all of the details publicly. The obituary will also be published through Baker Funeral Home at that time.
