We are trying to raise the money to finish paying for my Mamaw’s funeral. My mamaw Ethel Hughes passed away yesterday. She was 94 years old. For as long as I can remember she paid for life insurance. In her later life she was paying around $150 a month for a $10,000 policy. For a long time I never knew the difference in term life and whole life policies. When she turned 90 we found out she had a term life policy and her policy would run out in 6 months. So for the last 4 years of her life she has not had life insurance. My mom has saved as much as she could to help cover funeral costs from my Mamaw’s check every month but she was a resident in a nursing home and they had to be paid as well each month. Between the price of the funeral and the money we have on hand we are around $2500 short on the cost of the funeral. Donations would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
