Help Us Honor David Barkasy

Recently my father, David G. Barkasy, passed away on January 16th 2025. He was also known as “Snakeman” among friends and family.
Unfortunately, we unable to afford a proper funeral service or burial for my father. We have been told that he did not have a personal life insurance policy or policy through his work to help pay for such events. Although being a very organized man it seems he did not have a will or trust for his loved ones.
My sister and I have already liquidated all of our own personal savings accounts in order to visit my father and pick up his cremated remains from Utah to bring home with us in Florida until he is able to be laid to rest next to his parents in Connecticut. Additionally, we do not have the funds to return our father’s home in Utah to retrieve his sentimental items. It breaks our hearts to see everything my father achieved, loved, and collected be thrown away. So many memories we will be forced to live without.
My father was an entrepreneur and a dreamer. David loved his children and lived a life full of adventure. David was always his best self when he was surrounded by nature and animals. He had a passion for reptiles and herpetology. Whether it was searching for Bigfoot or creating his own business from the ground up, he always put his whole heart into it. With this Go Fund Me, we are hoping to give my father the final send off that he deserves. Unfortunately, that includes a lot of travel for his family and friends. With the money raised I am hoping to be able to not only bury my father next to his parent, but to help any family needing help with travel expenses like ourselves be able to attend and celebrate my father. Any donation amount is appreciated in this unimaginably difficult time.
