Help Us Honor Chris Dodd's Memory

Hi, my name is Skye Dodd, and I am organizing this fundraiser to support my amazing mom, Tamara, during this difficult time. On Tuesday, April 29th, my dad, Chris Dodd, suffered from cardiac arrest and was immediately transported to the hospital. There, they worked tirelessly to help my dad, but unfortunately, those crucial few minutes he spent without oxygen to his brain caused severe damage. His condition will not be improving, and we are doing everything we can to help him stay comfortable and make sure he knows that he is loved for the time he has left.

My dad is truly a one-of-a-kind guy. He has been nothing but a supportive father, a loving partner to my mother, and a good friend to almost everyone he meets. He has touched the lives of so many, and over these past few days, it has become clear that everyone around him has just as much love for him as we do. He is the pillar of our family and has always put us first, no matter what he has to sacrifice. He never went a day without reminding my mother and me how much he loved us. There was truly nothing he wouldn't do for the people he loved. He was a good friend to almost everyone he knew and had the biggest heart. He never thought twice about helping out a friend. The Santa Monica community was as much his family as we are, and not a single day went by without him sharing just how proud he was to come from there. It wasn't just pride- it was love. His absence leaves a deep hole in the heart of this community and it will never be the same without him. There are countless things I can say about how great of a person my dad was, but anybody who knew him could tell he had the biggest heart. No words can ever fully capture the impact my dad had on everyone who knew him, his presence, his kindness, and the love he shared for people-those things go beyond what I could ever put into words. But I hope that knowing how deeply he was loved and how much he meant to so many brings him peace.

These past few days have caused my family and I unimaginable pain. There are not enough words to describe the hurt this has caused us and the emptiness we feel from this loss. All funds received will go toward covering his medical expenses, supporting my mother during this time, and helping us give him the memorial he truly deserves. He gave so much of himself to others, and this is one way we can honor the love and kindness he shared with all of us. Thank you
