Hello, my name is Sunday Jones, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support during this incredibly difficult time. My beloved son, Carl “Shawn” Nickelson, has suddenly passed away due to what I wanted to believe was a heart failure, but instead he passed from a fatal dose of fentanyl poison.. His passing has left my children, community and family devastated.

Shawn was more than just a son—he was a brother, nephew, uncle, and friend to so many. He was a vibrant soul who brought joy and passion to everything he did. Shawn was a die-hard Steelers fan and loved basketball, sports, music, and cooking. He followed basketball daily and had a way of inspiring those around him with his kindness and love for life. His laughter and warmth touched everyone who knew him.
