Help us Honor Brady Donnelly’s Legacy

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Brady C. Donnelly, who left us far too soon at the age of 25. Brady had always dreamed of making the world a better place, and though his time with us was cut far too short, his spirit and dream live on. Together with his family, I want to do everything possible to continue his legacy and keep his memory alive.

The life I have today truly began the day I met Brady Donnelly. We first crossed paths at Youngstown State University—me studying Forensic Science and Brady studying Psychology. From the moment we spent time together, it was clear we were meant to be in each other’s lives. We were both up for any spontaneous adventure, even if it was as simple as driving around searching for a water tower to climb (which, unfortunately, never happened, though we always dreamed it would). Over the course of almost eight years, we shared countless memories, and for the last four, we had the incredible privilege of growing even closer as we fell more in love every day.

Brady was the kind of person who left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was selfless, always going out of his way to help others, whether they asked for it or not. Just last week, when my car was totaled, he became my personal chauffeur without a single complaint. Brady was the gold standard—kind, compassionate, and endlessly giving. I know he touched so many lives beyond my own, and his absence leaves an unimaginable void for everyone.

We are asking for donations to help cover funeral expenses, easing the financial burden on Brady’s family during this difficult time. Any additional funds will be put toward establishing a YSU athletic scholarship in our names (Hughes-Donnelly Athletic Scholarship), honoring both him and the bond we shared.

As a proud alum of YSU, I’ve always felt compelled to give back to the university that shaped so much of my life. Now, in Brady’s honor, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate where we first met and became best friends.
