Help Us Honor Baby Zamir's Memory

Dear Family Members and friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you that our precious baby boy Zamir Javon Sam passed on 5/1/25. It is a very painful moment for our family right now, and we are trying to arrange the funeral.

It was the worst day of our lives. Everything was fine until that morning, it all happened so fast. We called the doctor, 911, and ended up running to the ER ourselves. At the emergency room they found an air pocket in his abdomen and told us he needed to be flewn to Children's about 3 and a half hours away. When Zamir made it to the children's hospital, I was still flying up the interstate to be by his side getting calls from doctors and nurses trying to figure out what was going on. He had a severe infection and needed emergency surgery on his bowels. They told us he probably wasn't going to make it through the surgery. All these hard questions and horrible news while I'm trying my damnedest to still make it to the hospital. It turned out to be Necrotizing Enterocolitis.

A devastating disease that damages and kills the intestinal cells leading to the intestines dying off. By the time Zamir reached the OR, the disease already progressed so quickly it took the majority of his intestines and the infection spread and affected other organs. Zamir took his last breath in our arms.

We want to give Zamir a respectful service that celebrates who he was in the little time he was with us and show how much Zamir is loved and will always be loved. However, the cost of the funeral has created a financial challenge.
