My name is Soraya Gomez, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my mother, Nelly Viteri, and our family.

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved mother, Nelly Viteri, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at approximately 4:00 PM after her battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

In her final moments, she was surrounded by her immediate family. We were blessed to be by her side, to speak to her, to hold her close, and to let her know how deeply loved she was. Although our hearts are broken, we are grateful that she was not alone and that she passed peacefully surrounded by the people who loved her most.

Our mother fought with incredible strength until the very end. One of the things she wanted most was to make it to one more Mother’s Day with her children, and she did. That meant more to us than words can express.

Nelly was more than just our mother. She was our best friend.

She was intelligent, loving, strong, selfless, and a true fighter. She sacrificed so much throughout her life to make sure her children had love, support, stability, and opportunities. She carried burdens quietly so we would not have to, and she always found a way to keep going for her family.

As we now prepare to lay our mother to rest, we are facing the emotional and financial weight of funeral and memorial arrangements. Her funeral will be held next week, and this will be the final week that we are asking for support through this GoFundMe.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward:

• Funeral and memorial service expenses

• Burial or cremation costs

• Transportation and family arrangements

• Final end-of-life expenses
