With shattered hearts, we share the devastating loss of our beloved mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend, Iverta Richard, lovingly known to many as Ivy.

Ivy was 68 years old and was truly the heart and soul of her family. Born on May 17, 1957, she lived a life full of love, strength, and passion. On January 19, 2026, she passed away, leaving behind an emptiness that can never be filled.

As the oldest sibling, Ivy was a guiding light and protector to her family. She was a beloved sister to one sister and two brothers, always offering support, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her role as the eldest shaped who she was—strong, dependable, and always putting family first.

Ivy was also a devoted mother to her one son, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Being his mother was one of her proudest roles, and the bond they shared was unbreakable. That same deep love extended to her grandchildren. As an incredible grandmother to three beautiful grandbabies, they were her entire world—her joy, her laughter, and her heart. She cherished every moment with them, and her love will live on through each of them. She was the heart of our family.

Ivy also had a passion that defined her—her love for cars. Whether she was talking about them, racing in them, or admiring them, her enthusiasm was undeniable. It was a part of her spirit: bold, strong, and unforgettable. Anyone who knew Ivy knew how much she loved her cars, and it’s something that will always remind us of her.

As our family grieves this profound loss, we are also facing the unexpected financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses. We want to give Ivy the goodbye service she deserves—a service that honors her life, her love, and the legacy she leaves behind—but the costs are more than we can manage alone.
