Help us keep one of North Devon’s most beautiful beaches, safe and accessible for all.

Every year, Instow’s sea front is deluged with sand, making pavements impassable and causing a major hazard for pedestrians, particularly those with poor mobility.

Our mission:

to control and manage the ingress of sand from the beach onto the roads and pavement

and to develop and carry out community-based environmental projects.

Who we are:

We, Instow Sands Community Interest Company, are a voluntary (not-for-profit) organisation so every penny raised is locked in to directly serve our community, to preserve and protect the natural beauty of our lovely village by the sea, and to keep it safe and accessible for all.

Why We Need Your Support:

We would like to appeal to all those who use the beach, whether you are a resident, a regular visitor, or someone who loves walking their dog on Instow beach, any contribution, large or small, makes a real difference.

While our work is driven by a dedicated group of local volunteers, running these operations effectively requires funding and we need your help.

How your donation will be used:

• £20 to £200: will help towards equipping our team with safety gear, tools, and training, so our volunteers can work safely along the seafront.

• £200 to £2000: will help fund specialist equipment: for the rental of heavy machinery required to move large volumes of sand back onto the beach.

• £2,000 to £10,000: Community projects and partnerships: Collaborating with the local parish council and stakeholders to enhance and augment their environmental projects.

How You Can Help:

Join Our Volunteer Team. If you can spare an occasional Saturday morning, come and help us clear sand and debris from the pavements allowing for unrestricted access to the beach and local amenities.

Volunteering is rewarding, it not only helps with the appearance of the village but is also a great social occasion and a chance to meet up with other local folks.

Please note that as a registered non-profit Community Interest Company, (CIC No 17330414), all assets and funds raised are legally locked in to directly benefit the Instow community. While donations to CICs do not qualify for Gift Aid, 100% of your contribution directly drives our local action.
