Help us help Ziggy Starcat the stray cat!

Story

Hi! Annie and Vincent here, we are fundraising to get this poor stray cat the veterinary care he needs! All local shelters and rescues are over capacity so if we don't step up, his life is in real danger! We initially chose to name him Anubis because we already have a 15 year old tabby named Osiris; when it comes to Ancient Egypt deities, the more the merrier! But our vet told us cats respond more to the last syllable or sound of their name and Anubis and Osiris sound too much alike. So we decided to go with Ziggy Starcat! Ziggy started visiting our garden several weeks ago. At first his visits were sporadic but we started leaving food out and his visits became more frequent. He was skittish at first but now he's showing his need for love, not just food. We really weren't planning on adding a third fur baby to our family but Ziggy has captured our hearts! As we've become able to sit with him and pet him, we saw that he had several scars and fresh injuries. For the past few weeks, he's been showing up with new bruises every other day. We live in the outskirts of the city and there is a lot of wildlife around. Ziggy more than likely has had to defend himself against other cats, dogs, raccoons, skunks, foxes and coyotes, and maybe humans who don't like strays wandering into their gardens. The money we raise will be used to cover veterinary costs. We have an appointment for him on Thursday August 15th. The check up will cost $103 and neutering $244. Add to this any extra procedures, medication and tests that are needed. For now we're hoping to raise $750 but if costs go way over this we may increase the amount. We hope you'll be able to help us help Ziggy and we thank all who come to this page and read his story and share the link! Big love, Annie, Vincent, Mister Osiris Feline Overlord and Steven Captain Americat
