Help Us Help Thelma

You might not know her name but I bet your child does. Her name is Thelma Martinez and she is the Building Services Supervisor at Hickman Elementary. She is the smiling face your child sees when they walk through the gates and the hug they want at lunch. She is at school long before the students arrive making sure they have everything they need for a healthy learning environment. Over the past few weeks, she has needed to step away from her Hickman Family and step in as the main caretaker for her sister in her sister’s battle against cancer. As we all know, any medical treatment takes a lot out of the patient, but it also affects the caregiver in every aspect of their lives as well. The specialist her sister needs to see is a few hours away and the weekly drives and time off work are putting a financial strain on Thelma. We are trying to help relieve a little of that financial burden and would appreciate any amount you can donate.
