If you are part of the dance community in London, and beyond, you will know Sienna and her family. Not only for the amazing talent that she and her sister possess, but for the way the family, no matter what, always give love and support for others so freely.
A couple of weeks ago Sienna was injured. As the reception she was met with and treatment she received, through NHS was not the greatest, they decided to get an MRI done privately. It was quickly stablished that she had sustained a hairline fracture to her knee as well as a ruptured ACL.
Delaying ACL surgery beyond three months increases risk of developing irreparable cartilage damage or meniscus injuries due the continual instability in the knee.
Sienna has been told the waiting list for ACL surgery on the NHS is currently 12 months or even longer.
As anyone who is a dancer, who is a parent, carer, partner, sibling, friend of a dancer knows – the world is understood, overstood and innerstood through movement. A year is a very long time to wait before you can start your road to recovery. Going privately will speed that process up exponentially. However, the cost of such a surgery varies between £8,500 - £10,000.
We would be so grateful if you can help, support, donate or even just share, so that we can get our youngling the surgery she needs. Start her on the journey of recovery. Get her back on that stage. Doing what she does. What she loves.
Love and light…always!
