Help us help our Loki
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emily Forester. My husband, Zachary, and I have had Loki since he was a puppy. He’s never had any problems and has always been a healthy boy. On 11/17, it took a turn. He was vomiting all day… total of about 8 times. We took him to the animal urgent care our main vetinarian recommended us to. They didn’t see anything abnormal so we passed on the x-rays. They gave him an anti-nausea shot and gave him some fluids and sent us home. He was, as expected, tired and slept the next day. Didn’t really play around with our other fur baby, Thor, like he usually does. We passed it as he’s still tired from having an upset stomach. 11/19 around 9pm came, he was staring at me and licking his lips like he was when he was vomiting before. Going by my gut I told my husband to chat with our main vet on their website and she said seems to be normal and could wait till the morning. That still didn’t sit right with me, so we ended up taking him to the urgent care again around 10pm. Stayed there while they took their x-rays and they found some gravel like substance in his intestines that haven’t been able to push its way through. They told us we need to take him to a 24hr hospital to receive support care. They gave us a $2,000 estimate on the support care and a $4,000 estimate for surgery, if he needs it. We are praying he will not need the surgery as we cannot afford it. As this is hard for us to do, we ask you to donate anything you can to our fur baby.
We find out in 8-12hrs if he needs the surgery as he’s at the 24hr animal hospital now. Will update!
So update (11/20) - Its been a long 12 hours and they still do not know what is wrong. They took X-rays and still can’t get a good eye on anything. We were told there may not even be anything stuck and could be pancreatitis. They told us that he still is licking his lips and is super nauseous... they say we will have a better idea around 9 tonight. Keep y’all posted.
