Thank you for taking the time to read Kelly’s story, please help us to provide some much needed financial support in her final battle against cancer.

Her official diagnosis is recurrent metastatic disease. She is now receiving intravenous palliative chemotherapy every three weeks, alongside attempting natural remedies to try and ease the harsh effects of the chemo.

Her Cancer is incurable and considered terminal.

We would like to share a bit about our Kelly, her story and why we want to help this incredible woman.

Who is Kelly to us?
A mother, partner, daughter, sister, aunty, friend and her newest title of Nanma. If you have had the pleasure of knowing Kelly in any capacity, you can count yourself as lucky! She is one of the most selfless, strongest women you could ever meet. Kelly is the glue that holds her family together – the kind of person who drops everything to help her loved ones, friends, even strangers. She is stubborn when she needs to be (shhh!), but fiery in her strength, endlessly loyal, caring and generous to a fault.

She has been through years of heartache and countless battles with her health and more. And through it all, she has shown resilience beyond words.

In September 2020, after finally putting herself first and working hard to lose some pesky kilos, she noticed a lump in her left breast. Testing revealed that she had Stage 3 breast cancer.- 3 tumours & extensive spreading into her lymph nodes. Doctors rallied quickly and she was booked in for a mastectomy on the 21st October. A saline expander was used to keep her breast tissue viable for future reconstructive surgery.

In November, her gruelling rounds of chemotherapy began – 10 months of treatment, four different types of chemo. Add to that, 25 rounds of targeted radiation, which left her with second-degree burns needing daily dressing changes for 3 weeks.

But November came with some good news! Kelly’s mum Ann was given the all clear after battling lung cancer since 2013.

Then chemo began playing it’s favourite hand – hair loss. Kelly shaved her head for the first time on the 16th December 2020, right before her most loved time of year.

February 2021 brought a devasting blow….Ann was re-diagnosed, this time with widespread cancer throughout her body.

The next few months saw mother and daughter fighting this disease along side each other, helping each other through the darkest of days.

In August 2021, Kelly celebrated the end of her radiation treatment, ringing the bell loudly and proudly! However, this joy was short lived when Kelly’s sister-in-law Leeanne was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

The 7th of November 2021 brought the lowest of lows, when Ann heartbreakingly passed away. This loss plunged Kelly and her family into unbearable grief which has not left her.

Kelly regained her physical strength and in late 2022 began working at Keiki Edgewater as a cook. The days were fast paced and stressful but she enjoyed being there, seeing the kids enjoy the meals she had lovingly prepared for them. Giving is her love language!

In March 2023 after months of hormone blockers to induce premature menopause and in a bid to avoid further cancers, Kelly had both ovaries removed.

She had only just begun to recover when sadly, on the 25th June 2023, Leeanne passed away.

Later that year, while Kelly was preparing for her reconstructive surgery, a routine blood test showed her cancer markers were rising. Doctors wanted more tests and scans ASAP. After making it known that she was not missing out on Xmas celebrations this year, the doctors waited until the new year to start their testing.

Kelly made the tough decision to step down from her job at Keiki and put all of her energy into her next big fight.

While this has been the best option for her health, it has had a major impact on their finances. Now trying to manage on a single income with the ever increasing cost of living.

In February 2024, Kelly had an operation to have the expander in her breast replaced with an implant.

The 14th March 2024 brought Kelly’s biggest reason to continue her fight, her life being blessed by the arrival of her first grandchild.

After being given the go ahead after her February op, she was booked in for an MRI. This revealed a 14cm liver tumour, previously believed to be scarring. Surgery and further chemo treatment became her best option for survival so in May 2024, Kelly had a major operation to remove this tumour. Chemotherapy this time was via tablet form, everyday up until August 2025 when the doctors saw her markers rising again.

She recently shaved her head for the second time and we are now anxiously waiting for her latest test results to see how her levels are tracking….whether they are improving, holding steady or rising yet again.

Through it all, Kelly has carried herself with a smile, positivity, and unmatched courage. She has continued to give so much of herself to everyone around her. Even in her hardest moments, she thinks of her family and the people around her first.

Kelly has carried so very much, it is time for us to carry her.

Her greatest wish is to try and alleviate some financial pressure for her family and to complete a few minor projects at home to give her some peace of mind that her family will have a secure and comfortable space to spend her remaining time together.

Donations to this fundraiser will go towards helping her to fulfil some of these wishes.

Most importantly, helping with the costs of medications and therapies, easing the financial strain and giving Kelly the chance to solely focus on her health and healing.

Her home:
- roller shutters on the front window
-a whole house water filter supplied and fitted to the house
-a dryer to keep up with washing - specifically her sheets and towels after treatments

And time, allowing them to spend as much precious time together as possible without the constant worry of bills and expenses.

JJR Brickpaving has kindly provided paving for the backyard, helping to create a comfortable outdoor space. Thank you, we are so grateful for your donation!

Kelly is her family’s strength, their safe place, and their greatest source of love. Her wish is that, no matter what the future holds, her family will always have a home where they are protected, surrounded by comfort, and reminded of her love every single day.

Any donation, no matter the size, will help to alleviate life’s pressures giving her family stability, and ensuring her wishes can be fulfilled.

Together, we can help give Kelly the peace she deserves and remind her that she is not alone in this fight.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting this beautiful woman.

With love & gratitude X
