Hi im jennifer, my partner Piero and I are asking for your help for our neighbour and friend Danny, who put himself in real danger to help protect us and our terrified children during an extremely frightening incident. We had been desperately waiting for police to arrive after a tourist experiencing a manic episode became violent, attacking his own father and then trying to smash his way through our restaurant door to get to him. With our children inside and no police in sight, we called Danny and others for help. Danny came immediately, knowing the situation was dangerous, simply because we needed help. Tragically, the danger followed him. The man returned in his father’s stolen car and deliberately rammed Danny’s pickup truck twice, violently enough to leave Danny with broken ribs and whiplash and his truck completely written off. The aftermath has been devastating. Danny is a fisherman and depends on his physical strength to earn a living, but he is now unable to work for at least six weeks while he recovers. He came to us when we were scared and vulnerable, and it breaks our hearts that he is now paying such a heavy price for simply trying to help. We cannot take away his injuries or take back what happened, but we can stand beside him now. Please help us give something back to the man who didn’t think twice about putting himself in harm’s way for us.
