HELP US HELP COLOMBIA

On August 10, 2026, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck Colombia.

Our own family has lost homes. Families are without safe shelter, basic necessities, and, in some places, access to the resources they need to get through the days ahead.

Through our family and community connections, we have direct ties to people in affected areas throughout Quindío, Risaralda, Chocó, and Valle del Cauca, including Montenegro, Pereira, Quibdó, Cali, and surrounding communities.

WHERE YOUR MONEY IS GOING

We are taking responsibility for collecting these donations and directing them to people and organizations we have direct, personal connections with.

Donations will be distributed to:

• Trusted community members in affected areas who are helping families directly

• Local foundations and community organizations already working on the ground

• People providing food, shelter, supplies, transportation, and other immediate assistance

• Families and individuals who have lost their homes or are otherwise in urgent need

We are not claiming that we can fix everything.

We are trying to get help directly into the hands of people who need it.

WE WILL SHOW YOU WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES

We understand that asking people to send money requires trust.

We do not expect you to simply take our word for it.

As donations are distributed, we will provide photos, videos, updates, and documentation from the communities receiving assistance whenever it is safe and possible to do so.

We want our donors to see the work being done and understand where their contributions are going.

This GoFundMe was created by the owners and operators of Colonial Grill, our connection to Colombia is personal, and our ability to help comes through family, friends, community members, local organizations, and contacts already on the ground.

SUPPLIES ARE ALSO NEEDED

If you are able to donate physical supplies, they are extremely valuable.

Some of the items being requested include:

• Tents

• Sheets and blankets

• Towels

• Diapers of all sizes

• Hygiene and personal care products

• Air mattresses

• Non-perishable food

• Medical gauze and medical tape

• Unexpired over-the-counter medications

• Children's Tylenol or Advil

• Allergy medications such as Benadryl, Zyrtec, or Allegra

Please only donate medications that are sealed, unexpired, and appropriate for donation.

If you cannot bring supplies to our collection locations, monetary donations through this fundraiser will allow us to purchase and direct needed resources to the affected communities.

IN-PERSON DONATIONS

From Saturday, August 15, through Saturday, August 22, our Colonial Grill food trucks will also accept donations during our normal food service hours.
