Help us help Camden to live his Best Life

Hi my name is Amy and I am fundraising to help my daughter care for my grandson, Camden.

Camden is the sweetest most loving little boy who has a rare genetic disease called GM1 Gangliosidosis. It is a lysosomal storage disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord and as a result it affects the entire body. Unfortunately this disease is terminal for all the children that has GM1 Gangliosidosis. Camden suffers from things like hypotonia, epilepsy, feeding/swallowing issues, and many other Medical issues. Camden cannot talk or walk and gets tired very easily. If he gets something as simple as a cold, he could need to be hospitalized because his little body just works so much harder than ours does.

I’m asking for donations to help Cam and his Mom with unexpected medical expenses or to help with anything that Cam may need. Mandy works as a waitress because this is the only profession that allows her to have the schedule needed so that she can take care of Cam. Camden has multiple different therapy appointments throughout the week that Mandy has to take him to. Or if Camden gets sick and Mandy needs to stay with him she doesn’t have sick days or paid time off, she loses out on any money she may have made for that day. And she is at risk of losing her job! If she cannot find someone to cover her shift at the restaurant when something unplanned comes up or Cam is sick, she gets dinged and can lose her job!

As Camden ages the regression will get worse. He will have more Doctors appointments to go to. Mandy gets very little help especially financially.

The funds from this account will go directly to Mandy and Camden to use for medical expenses, food, or gas, and income replacement when needed.

Camden is also in a gene trial in Philadelphia, which requires traveling often from North Carolina to Philadelphia. While the trial does pay for most of this, it doesn’t pay for anything not concerning the trial. So while they are there any activities she does with Camden comes out of her own pocket. The funds would or could be used for a trip to the zoo or another activity while spending time in Philadelphia.

Please help us help this little family! Camden lights up everyone he comes in contact with. He is just an amazing little boy. Camden‘s Mommy, Mandy is the BEST MOMMY EVER to Exist! There is NOTHING Mandy wouldn’t do for her sweet boy. She does EVERTHING for Cam, she is stubborn and doesn’t accept help of any kind. That is why I have started this fundraiser because she would never let on she needed some financial help let alone actually ask for help. I cannot say enough about the love between Mama and son! It‘s the most incredible love in existence.
