Meet Bec and Matt, two of the most beautiful, kind hearted, caring and incredibly strong people that we know. Tragically, they have had their world completely turned upside down by cancer.
Bec, 35 and Matt, 38 have had ill health & battled cancer for a large portion of their lives.
Matt has had leukaemia on and off since he was 16, which included two unrelated bone marrow transplants. He’s now in remission.
Bec has had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on and off since she was 20, including many rounds of chemotherapy & extensive radiotherapy, a stem cell transplant, a clinical trial & multiple surgeries.
Recently, Bec has battled further ill health & her specialists suspected another lymphoma relapse. Everyone was left horrified when she was diagnosed with Malignant Mesothelioma (cancer mostly caused from asbestos exposure), likely as a result of the large amounts of radiotherapy she’s had to treat the lymphoma.
Sadly, Bec has been given a prognosis of 12 months.
They can’t operate, use radiotherapy or perform a transplant, the only treatment is chemotherapy. However, Bec has managed to get on an immunotherapy trial, which she has just started and will try first, before having to use the last option of chemotherapy.
Matt & Bec have only been married two years & always hoped they’d have more time together before the side effects of all the treatment caused havoc on their bodies once more.
Sadly their extensive medical histories have impacted on them financially.
This Go Fund Me page has been set up to help both Bec & Matt financially during their toughest battle yet. Any donations received will help to contribute to medical treatments, expenses and future care that will be required.
