In 2025 Afghanistan continues to face humanitarian emergency following decades of conflict and the Taliban takeover of the country. The Taliban have placed severe restrictions on all women and girls which are worsening while many in the global community turn a blind eye.
Conditions under the Taliban have made it increasingly difficult for local NGOs working for Afghan women, but we still have volunteers on the ground providing direct help to the desperate women and their families enduring this humanitarian and human rights disaster. Through these women we can ensure your donation goes into the hands of the Afghan women resisting the Taliban by continuing to set up and run small businesses.
Afghan women are strong and are determined to protect their families and not to go under this tidal wave of repression that has been unleashed over them.
Our women volunteers are still out there working hard for their Afghan sisters. They are asking for your help. Only a small donation will make an enormous difference to their lives:
- $30 covers the travel expenses of one woman volunteer for a month to set up a network of support for other women to become self-sufficient.
- $50 supports one woman to re-skill, for example she can purchase the materials to restart her business
Please donate something towards supporting the women of Afghanistan. Your support will help Afghan women to continue to hold up their heads and know they have value in this world.
Through our diaspora network of Afghan women world-wide, funds will be transferred directly to women volunteers in Afghanistan, who will transfer small grants to women and their families in need. Zardozi Australia will provide regular reports to our Board about use of funds.
