Hi, my name is Charlee, and I’m the full-time caregiver for my amazing brother, who was left paraplegic after a life-changing accident nearly two years ago.
This year, we were incredibly fortunate to inherit our grandparents' home, a place filled with love, memories, and family history. Unfortunately, the house had become uninhabitable in the years since they passed.
Despite not being able to live in it yet, we’ve been doing everything we can. We've been paying the mortgage, cleaning it out ourselves, and starting critical repairs. So far, we’ve put in over $60,000, all while trying to make the home accessible for my brother, which has meant tearing down walls and doing major renovations.
But now, we’ve hit a wall. We can’t afford to keep going. We’re not only in debt, but we’re at risk of losing the house entirely.
To make matters even harder, our stepfather, who has been one of our biggest sources of strength, is now battling his third cancer diagnosis. He just underwent surgery to remove it and is currently on the waiting list for a heart transplant. Our family is stretched thin emotionally, physically, and financially.
We are doing everything we can to hold on, not just for ourselves but to honor our grandparents' legacy and to give my brother a safe, comfortable, and accessible home to live in.
We’re humbly asking for help. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to making this house a true home again and gives our family a chance to heal, rebuild, and breathe.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading and for being part of our journey. ❤️
